my first review was in 2020 but now I'm updating my review. it always used to work good but for some reason it's acting up. it doesn't let me log in. and when I do it says can't connect to my router. it tells me to check my router status. but it's fine. I was watching Hulu and my daughter was playing Xbox. the router was fine. but the app didn't want to connect. when I was finally able to connect to it, I tried to connect to the extender I have linked to it. it doesn't want to connect to that.

The jury is still partly out on the Nighthawk app. But my initial review isn't good. I just finished setting up a mesh system, and the app has been buggy and fiddly as hell. Several times it told me the router wasn't compatible with the app. If you take more than 60 seconds on a task, a contact support pop-up appears. God forbid you have any other apps open or attempt to switch between them. At the moment, I hope I don't have to use this app often.

Network map is no longer part of the app, and with it the ability to edit labels for devices. All but 3 labels were erased and it's difficult to know what device is online now because out of 17 devices, only 3 still have labels. The rest simply show up as unknown. The app is only good for seeing how much data I use, to know if wifi is down which my ISP sends me texts for, and to locate my router via signal strength which is useless since it's mounted to my wall in plain view. Might uninstall it.

This latest release fixes various issues and adds new enhancements.
